Escort Table Inspiration for Every Budget

When you’re planning for your wedding flowers you may focus on bouquets and centerpieces, but remember there are other special areas of your wedding that you may want to dress up!

Consider doing something special on your escort table since it’s generally the first table that welcomes guests into your cocktail or reception space! It’s not just another table to be seen, each and every guest has to stop here to find out where to go next.  The escort card itself doesn’t have to just be a piece of paper that people throw away- it could be something more creative that doubles as your favor or serve a more functional purpose (think cards on top of champagne glasses for a toast or little potted succulents guests get to keep). Take this opportunity to make a statement or to honor your relationship with a personal touch!

Charts and hanging cards

Seating charts are a beautiful way to direct guests to their tables! Use mirrors, acrylic, chalkboards or wooden signs to amplify your wedding aesthetic.

HOT TIP: If you’re displaying a seating chart, remember you cannot designate meals this way! These charts are best for buffet or station style meal service. If you love the chart look but are serving a sit-down meal where guests select their entree in advance, you’ll have to include a card at each seat that displays the name and meal selection of the guest. But this often means you’re choosing each guests seat as well as ordering extra cards! Another solution would be to hang the escort card in an artful way! See below for lots of inspiration!

add a personal touch

Consider using your escort table as a way to bring guests into the unique or personal parts of your relationship! Do you love bike riding together on the weekends? Attach your cards to a vintage bike tire! Are you known for jet setting together? Use mini paper airplanes to direct your guests to tables named after your favorite travel destinations. You could also get creative by playing up your venue space! Perhaps a card attached to mini lavender plants if your wedding is at a botanical garden, or gilded dinosaurs if you’re getting married at the natural history museum!

dress up your table

Going for a more traditional escort table? Nothing wrong with that! Dress it up by using wax seals on your escort cards or colorful and textured paper. Display cards on a fancy detailed linen! Our favorite way to decorate your escort table? With flowers of course:)
